Clouded Yellow (f) Colias croceus by tsbl2000 (Back, now to catch up!) My wife and I had a great walk in the sunshine at Seaford Head this morning. Amongst the fauna were lots of clouded yellow butterflies on the cliffs. Normally it is very hard to get an image of the upper wing as they invariably settle with their wings closed. With persistence and a lot of missed efforts I finally managed to get part of the upper wing of this beautiful female butterfly. They are primarily visitors from North Africa and Southern Europe although some do winter in the UK in milder years. http://flic.kr/p/ysCwKV September 10, 2015 at 07:32PM
