Diablo Lake (new edit) by CraigGoodwin2 In this new composition I used the sky photos I took before taking the long land exposures instead of the series I took afterwards. I think it works better with the composition more balanced and not so weighted to to the right. One of the challenges with night photography, especially the Milky Way, is that the general rules of composition still apply. Yes, the Milky Way is amazing to see in a photo (although it’s so common now it seems less so), but the task is to compose the sky and the Milky Way in such a way that tells a story or evokes a feeling. The fact that the night sky is constantly shifting and changing, both during a given night and from month to month, makes this more challenging than one might think. http://flic.kr/p/yoReFv September 16, 2015 at 03:13AM
